Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Hello! My name is Heather Hugman and this is my third year at Eanes Elementary! I am incredibly excited to spend this year with your beautiful children and to watch them learn and grow! I am passionate about creating a classroom that creates an environment for all my students to learn and grow in. I model my classroom around the belief that all students can learn and that all students have a particular learning style that works best for them. 

As a teacher I am passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for all of my students. One of my strengths as a teacher is developing creative methods of teaching students who have a variety of learning styles. I am passionate about teaching students how to be their own advocate when it comes to their learning and life outside the classroom.

I believe that in addition to learning academic material I am determined to help all my students discover who they are meant to be and help them follow their dreams. As a teacher I am a strong advocate for my students and am determined to help them reach their goals. I take pride when my students reach their goals and follow their dreams. I love to know my students' interests and passions. I believe that every child has specific gifts and talents and I love helping students find confidence in using their specific gifts and talents in and out of the classroom.

When your child enters and leaves my classroom each day I want them to know that they are loved, cared for and supported!

In my spare time, I enjoy being outside, spending time with my family and friends, working out, traveling and creative projects!
