Welcome to 2nd Grade--the BEST grade ever! My name is Karen Richardson and I am thrilled that you are in my class this year! I feel very fortunate to be a Falcon!
A few things about me ...
I graduated from Texas A&M and am a proud Aggie! Whoop!
This will be my 13th year teaching and my 6th year at FTE. I spent 7 years teaching in Round Rock and Austin before being fortunate enough to stay at home with my kids. In 2015, I became a co-teacher in a preschool class at WUMP. Then, in 2020, I joined FTE in 4th grade. Two years ago, I finally moved down to my favorite grade.
My husband is a UT grad and a diehard Longhorn. We have been married 22 years.
I have 2 children. Connor will be starting at Texas A&M this fall and Erin will be a 9th grader at WHS. We also have 1 dog (Obi) and 1 cat (Bandit).
On the weekends, you can usually find me out on Lake Austin. I also enjoy traveling, watching college football, and hiking.
I love laughing and learning with my students daily. I am looking forward to working with you this year!
