About Me

Me llamo Elena Howard, but you can call me Doña Elena! I'm excited to be teaching Spanish at Hill Country Middle School and I'm particularly thrilled to walk the halls again after attending HCMS as a Cougar myself in my middle school days! I've lived in Austin my whole life and after graduating Westlake High School, I attended the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em!) and began my Spanish teaching career in the UTeach program. I have taught Spanish at both Leander ISD and in private schools in Austin and can't wait to share my passion for languages and connection with my students at HCMS. 

I'm a parent, an avid reader (I love fantasy and fiction!), a gardener, a traveler, a birder and lifelong collector of hobbies and crafts. I love spicy food and scary movies and spending time with my loved ones.
