This math course is offered to 5th graders. Students will cover 5th grade TEKS primarily using STEM Scopes.
Students taking this course will take the 5th Grade Math STAAR Test in the spring.
Students entering 5th grade are expected to have their times tables mastered (to the best of each individual's ability) and a basic understanding of:
-multi-digit multiplication (2 x 2)
-long division (1 digit divisors)
- fractions (add and subtract common denominators, find equivalent fractions, compare fractions).
Students interested in a challenge will be provided with opportunities to explore 6th grade math concepts.
