Choose a story.
Read the story ALOUD for one minute. This is your “Cold Timing Read”
Read the story ALOUD one time with the program reader’s voice. You must read slow (sorry).
Read the story ALOUD 1 time for a one-minute timed reading.
Answer the quiz questions and spell some words if required.
WHEN YOU HEAR THE SPEAKER SAY:
“Now you are ready to pass. Read the story and play Wordtastic until your teacher comes to pass you on this story. TAP start timing and begin reading.” You do not have to play Wordtastic.
TAP THE YELLOW BOX AT THE TOP.
Do NOT tap the Teacher White Apple.
Put in teacher user name (eharpine) and password (leftfoot).
Tap start 1 minute timing.
Choose 0 words missed.
Choose 4 to rate your reading.
You will be asked if your answer you typed into the box is correct.
Tap on the blue answer link. Choose YES if your answer is correct.
Choose DONE.
Eanes ISD provides your child with Learning Ally Audio Book electronic account. Most titles have speech and text combined so that the printed version can be visually tracked while the audio book plays. The APP is on your child’s school ipad and can be added to a device at home.
1) On an IPad, iphone, or computer, download the free Learning Ally APP.
2) Login ID is Student012345 / password is reading (use student 1st name and school ID#)
3) You will see a horizontal row “Learning Ally Recommends” and underneath that “My Books”
4) Touch upper right corner icon of a person. You will have choices: Add books, Delete my books, Update my books, My Vocabulary, Settings
5) Choose “Add books.” In the search box type in a title or author. You may also choose Browse By: Grade, Subject, Category. Available books should appear.
6) Choose the down arrow “Read Now” and the book will download into the account. Choose “Read Later” and the book will be added to the bookshelf to be downloaded and read at a later time.
7) To view the bookshelf, touch the upper right icon of 3 bounded books.
8) You will see “Currently Reading” “My Books” “Learning Ally Recommends” “Find more recommended books”
9) Choose “Update my Books” at anytime to ensure you have all the books you selected.
10) The “Settings” wheel allows the user to choose playback rate, text size, highlighting text, and more.
