This year will be my 36th year teaching. I taught sixth grade ELA for 25 years, K/1 for one year, and music (vocal/performance/organizational specializing in A cappella ensembles) for nine.
After graduating from the University of Texas and starting my teaching career in Austin, I moved to Colorado for two years of teaching and then returned to Austin. I still go to Colorado every summer, and when my schedule allows I work summer camp in Estes Park at Cheley Colorado Camps, the number one summer camp in the nation.
Fun Facts: I've won three international gold medals performing with Vocal Majority, one of the best choruses in the world. Breakfast tacos are one of my favorite foods! I love so many things at Trader Joe's especially the cookies like Dark Chocolate Chunk &Â Almond. I don't really eat candy but love yummy baked goods (Nothing Bundt Cakes are great!) and I love General Tso's Chicken. I've coached all over the world including Germany, Spain, New Zealand, Australia 13 times, and throughout the United States including Hawaii and Alaska. I was Teacher of the Year at Bailey M.S. in 2009-10. I was a trumpet player in the University of Texas Longhorn Band. I love the Peanuts comic strip! (You'll see my Peanuts Christmas shirts in December...or sooner!)
