Hi y'all! I'm Caroline Varner, the Instructional Coach at Valley View Elementary. In my role, I help our amazing teachers become even better! I offer instructional coaching, lead professional development workshops, provide teaching and learning resources, and support teachers with assessment and data analysis. If a teacher needs anything, I'm their go-to person!

I also serve on our Campus Leadership Team, working closely with our Principal, Assistant Principal, and counselors to set goals and drive initiatives that align with our district's objectives. Additionally, I act as the liaison between our campus and the district for everything related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

A Little About Me

I'm originally from Pasadena, California – the place known for the New Year’s Rose Parade, Cal Tech, and the Rose Bowl. I grew up in sunny Southern California but spent most of my teaching career in the vibrant city of San Francisco up north. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Education and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a specialization in Science. Later, I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from San José State University. I also have a Specialized Certificate in Gifted and Talented Education and an Administrative Services Credential. With 16 years in education under my belt, I've spent 12 of those years as a classroom teacher, teaching kindergarten, third, fourth, and fifth grades. Before moving to Austin in 2020, I had an incredible adventure traveling around the world with my husband. We packed everything into two backpacks and explored over twenty countries!

Now, I’m loving my new adventure in Austin, Texas! I'm in my 5th year at Valley View Elementary, and I’m so proud to be a Valley View Cardinal. During my time here, I've had the pleasure of serving as the 5th Grade math and science teacher, Assistant Principal, and Instructional Coach.
