World Geography is a regional survey course designed to acquaint students with the world physically, politically, culturally, and economically. Both semesters will focus on foundational geographic concepts, skills and regional topics, and conceptual themes within various fields of geography. Cooperative learning, spatial mapping, creation tasks, and computer aided lessons are all utilized. Students also learn about the methods and tools geographers use in their science and practice.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
use and think about maps and spatial data
understand and interpret the implications of associations among phenomena in places.
recognize and interpret at different scales the relationships among patterns and processes.
characterize and analyze changing interconnections among global places.
