My name is Cynthia Rivas and I am excited to be your child's fourth grade teacher at Cedar Creek Elementary!
A little bit about myself, my parents set a very strong foundation that inspired me to continue in their footsteps. My dad retired from the New York City Department of Education where he spent 25 years as a Math teacher and soccer coach, serving high schoolers. I started my teaching career right after earning my bachelors degree in Childhood Education at SUNY Old Westbury. I spent 9 years teaching in an elementary public school in the Bronx, 3 years in fifth grade and six years in third. This is my third year in 4th grade at Cedar Creek.
I am happily married with 2 boys, Noah (6) 1st Grader, Liam (3), and 3 beautiful german shepherds. My husband is my biggest supporter and has a passion for kids just like me. We love spending time with our family and friends.
I am looking forward to working together with you, to help your child to excel in the fourth grade, and to continue in a lifelong journey of success. My goal is to Support, Empower and Nurture your child in reaching their goals for success.
