We will finish up our unit on Landforms and dive into the formation of sedimentary rock which will lead us into fossil fuels. There are fewer opportunities for hands-on experiments with these units but we do have some activities planned and we are using the extra time to focus on note-taking skills, outlining, and scientific diagramming.
1/ 5 - 1/16
Our first unit of the new year is the water cycle and weather patterns. We will build on the students’ understanding of the water cycle to include infiltration and transpiration. We will look at the role of the water cycle, the sun, and the ocean in creating weather patterns. We will research and write about a variety of severe weather events.
