“Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another” – G.K. Chesterton

This is my fourth year as an educator of record, after a whirlwind start November 2020 during the pandemic, though not my fourth year in education. I have worked three years in special education as a paraprofessional at Austin ISD, after a series of countless odd jobs including but not limited to: dance convention video producer, USDA Farm Service Agency intern, salesman, actor, restaurant server, caterer, and cashier.

In 2011, I received my Bachelor Business Administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio. In 2015, I received my Masters of Business Administration in Business Economics from the same university. It was in San Antonio that I met my wife, Gabriella. We have a one-year-old son, and by the time you read this, we might have another (due date: August 25th, 2023).

This is where I am meant to be. I enjoy helping young minds grow and attaining those 'aha' moments with both reading and writing. I have a passion for the written word and I receive perhaps too much enjoyment from the sight of a well-placed comma. My dad used to trick me into reading books like Isaac Asimov's Foundation and Jack London's Call of the Wild  by promising me that, if I read the book and passed a quiz, he would buy me a video game.

I tended to forget all about the bribe in the process of getting lost in the book. Who said transactional parenting can't work?
