Instructional Coach
My name is Becca Wells and I am the Instructional Coach at Forest Trail Elementary. In my role, I help teachers become better teachers! I offer instructional coaching, I lead professional development workshops, I provide resources for teaching and learning, and I support teachers with assessment and data analysis. If a teacher needs anything, I’m their first stop! I also serve on our Campus Leadership Team. I collaborate with our Principal, Assistant Principal, and counselors in setting goals and driving initiatives that align with our district goals. I’m also the liaison between our campus and the district for all things related to curriculum. instruction, and assessment.
I was born in San Francisco, spent some years in London and moved to New Jersey in first grade! I went to college at Elon University in North Carolina and majored in Elementary Education. After graduating, I got a job at the school I student taught at and remained there for six years. While I was there I taught second grade for five years, kinder for one and got my Master's in Special Education. I moved to Austin ten years ago and taught for six years (kinder for five and first grade for one) in Lake Travis ISD. This will be my fourth year at FTE and seventeenth year in education. I am so excited to be in this role and a part of the FTE family!
Instructional coaching is an essential responsibility in my role as Educational Partner. Through these partnerships, I help teachers become even better teachers!
