Meet Mr. Schieffer

Hi! I’m Mitch Schieffer and I am excited to return for my 21st year at Bridge Point Elementary. I was born and raised in Austin and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in electrical engineering. After working as an engineer in the aerospace field for 14 years, I returned to UT to get my teaching credentials and now have 27 years of experience teaching in the elementary grades. I also have a masters degree in education with a specialty in math. This year I will be teaching math and science in 5th grade.  My wife Shelly and I just celebrated our 26th anniversary. We spend a lot of our time together hiking, riding our bikes, and taking care of our two dogs Ranger and Nova. I’m looking forward to meeting another wonderful group of Bobcats this school year.
