Meet Mr. Schieffer

Hi! I’m Mitch Schieffer and I am excited to return to Bridge Point Elementary to teach 5th grade. I was born and raised in Austin and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in electrical engineering. After working as an engineer in the aerospace field for 14 years, I returned to UT to get my teaching credentials and now have 25 years of experience teaching in the elementary grades. I also have a masters degree in education with a specialty in math. This year I will be teaching math in 5th grade.  My wife Shelly and I just celebrated our 24th anniversary, and we spend a lot of our time together running, riding our bikes, and taking care of our two dogs. I’m looking forward to meeting another wonderful group of Bobcats this school year.
