Hi! I am so excited to start off another amazing year at BCE! This will be my ninth year at BCE, but my 19th year teaching. I have taught Kinder, First, and Second Grade, but 1st grade is my Happy Place.
I love being a primary teacher. These are some of the most important years in a student's educational career due to all of the growth that is expected. Education is truly my passion, and I live for watching my students grow during the year. I believe it's my duty to work hard for them and continue to grow and learn as an educator in order to set that example for my students.
This is going to be an amazing year full of so much growth and fun and I can't wait to get to know each student and family.
Josh and I have been married for 14 years this September. Our family lives in South Austin, but you can often find us at a High School or Texas sporting event for Josh's job. You may find yourself running into Josh Ryan at Train 4 The Game; he's worked there for 20 years.
Josh and I have 2 daughters, an 11 year old who will be moving on to West Ridge Middle School in 6th Grade named Reese, and a 7 year old named Violet who will be in 2nd grade here at BCE. These two little loves who are polar opposite, keep us super busy and on our toes.
We have a 6 year old 80lb Yellow Lab named Hank. He's a pretty hyper boy who loves to cuddle, go for walks, eat treats, and sit on our laps like he only weighs 5lbs. We also have a 3 year old 2.7lb Yorkie named Tex. He's the Alpha between the two who loves to snuggle in any lap that will accept him, go on car rides, bark at squirrels and shadows, and boss Hank around.
I grew up in Lake Jackson, Texas attending Brazoswood High School. Lake Jackson has my heart because there is nothing better than growing up on the coast by the beach.
My husband Josh, is a Unicorn. He was born and raised here in Austin.
I went to college at Stephen F. Austin State University, where I double majored in Advertising and Public Relations. After working in another field for a few years and occasionally substitute teaching, I realized teaching was my passion, and I went back to get my teaching certification.
When I'm not at school, you'll find me and my family spending time tracking down my favorite flowers, sunflowers at the nearest Farmers Market, at the movies, or day-tripping to a nearby town. I also LoVe to craft, so I'm always in the aisles of Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Target.
