A love for learning was instilled in me at a very young age and I hope to instill that same love of learning in my students. I constantly enjoy learning and implementing new ideas in my classroom to help students reach their highest potential.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Applied Learning and Development. Hook 'em Horns! I have my Master's in Reading and a Reading Specialist certification. Over the last few years, I have earned a Wilson Dyslexia Therapist certification. This means that I am certified to diagnostically teach students identified with a language-based learning disability.
This is my 14th year of teaching. I taught 3rd grade for two years in Florida and taught 1st grade at Cedar Creek for 8 years. This is my 4th year as CCE's lead Dyslexia Specialist. Cedar Creek holds a very special place in my heart.
When I am not busy teaching or testing, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Collin. My other interests include cooking, running, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I am looking to a wonderful year with my team and students!
