About Me

Hello and welcome! 

Before landing at Westlake, I grew up in Dallas and attended Texas A&M where I studied English. After college I went back to Dallas where I worked as a freelance writer and realized that my love for writing, books, and building relationships would be better suited in the classroom. However before moving to Austin to teach I got my masters in English Literature at Durham University in the U.K.. This will be my fifth year in the classroom and third at Westlake. 

I am glad to be a Chap and spend this year with you. I feel passionate about Literature because it allows me to see the world through a different perspective, realize how we are all so interconnected, and find a friend on the page. I love teaching because I get to walk alongside my students as we embark upon this process. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, cycling, and cooking.
