March 2022 unboxing video: get a sneak peek at some of the amazing new books coming to our library!
We had so much fun hosting Jarrett Krosoczka on Friday, March 11. He talked to students at Parkdale and even made a special appearance at the middle school to see our fifth-graders. He talked to us about the inspirations for his stories, his creative process, and the life of an author/illustrator. He even shared some of the digital drawings he made while he talked! Some are static images, others are time-lapse videos. Check them out below.

It's book checkout time! I've tried to make this as easy as possible while still gathering enough information to make sure I can find the right book for you.
For now, all students are able to borrow one book at a time. If this system runs smoothly, we will allow more checkouts.
The good news is, you do not have to wait for library day to request a book! If you finish your book, bring it back and request a new one! Any book you request will be delivered to your classroom.
Note: you must be logged into your East Aurora school account to see and use the form.
Head here and click "Downloadables" to access tons of amazing e-books! You'll need a library card to download them.
The video on the right will teach you how to search and download e-books. You'll also get to see what an e-book looks like when you open it on your screen and start flipping through it.
Reading is the foundation for all other learning. The mission of the Parkdale Library is to provide a safe, welcoming environment where all students have access to the books and information they need to become lifelong readers and inquisitive learners. Students will engage with stories and information in both print and digital formats; develop critical thinking skills; and learn to use information ethically and responsibly.
The goal of collection development is to develop and maintain a collection of relevant, popular, and useful library materials for the students of Parkdale Elementary. The library collection is meant to reflect the diversity of our school population and respond to the recreational and informational needs of our students and staff.
