About me

My name is Mrs. Jennifer Monroe, but most of my friends call me Jenny. It's still Mrs. Monroe to you. I grew up in neighboring Porter and am a proud Elma High School Grad (Class of 2000). I am married to my 2nd grade crush, Jeff. He finally noticed I wasn't just one of his sister's friends in 2008. :) We have 3 adorable, hilarious kids (Natalie, Hank & Luke). I love kayaking, beef/tree farming, Oregon beach bumming, & collecting rocks with my family. I have been a middle/ j.r. high school teacher since 2005. I have taught in Shelton, McCleary, and finally, Elma School District, where I have been since 2012.

I was inspired to become a teacher from two very amazing ladies in my life, my mom, Cathy, & grandma, Mary (Ba). My mom became a teacher after having children. She worked hard both at school and at home to ensure everyone knew they were important, she believed in you, and there was no way you were ever going to give up. My grandma, Mary, worked at the elementary, then the middle school as a school secretary, but always wanted to become a teacher. She was always smiling and cared about everyone she met.

I am excited for this year to get started! I have been waiting for these students for 3 years and this year, all Intensified Algebra & Algebra 1 sections are with me. This class of young adults are a hard working and can handle challenges. We are going to have a great year in Math.
