Who is eligible?

  • For the Student Single Event : Any high school student between the ages of 14 and 18 years of age, registered in grades 9 through 12 in a recognized public, private, or charter school by the State of Oregon as of 3/26/2022.

  • For the Adult Educator Event: Any employee, 18 years or older, of a public or private school or school district recognized by the Oregon Department of Education.

What (and when) are the events?

  • Student Singles Giant Swiss Tournament (6 matches for all players) 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, March 26, 2022. See Rules Page for more information.

  • Adult Educator Single Elimination Tournament - 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, March 26, 2022. See Rules Page for more information.

How do I register?

  • You can mail in your application by clicking the OFFICIAL APPLICATION FORM, print it out, fully sign it and have it postmarked by March 12, 2022. The cost is $20 plus a $5 mail in fee.

  • Or, scroll down and choose one of the QR codes below or click on the appropriate links. to go to appropriate on-line sign up page,. You wil be directed to login to the AYTTO's website. AYTTO is one of our sponsors. Click on the Sponsors Page to find out more of those who are helping us run this event. The cost is $20 and their is no on-line registration fee.


  • If this is your first time registering for the event make sure to do the following:

1st time Student registration and log in process

  1. Go to https://aytto.com/Account/Register

  2. Please Fill out all fields indicated. They are:

    1. Email, Last Name, First Name, Passsword, Confirm Password, Date of Birth, Address, Parent phone number. Parent e-mail.,

    2. Please enter your birthdate to verify you are between 14 and 18 years of age at the time of this tournament.

    3. USE YOUR HIGH SCHOOL ADDRESS AS YOUR ADDRESS, YOUR ADDRESS INDICATES WHICH HIGH SCHOOL YOU REPRESENT IN THE STATE OF OREGON AND FOR THE SCHOOL AWARDS.

    4. If you have a Usattid #, please fill that field. If you do not, leave it blank.

  3. Read through and click AYTTO's waiver, and follow the prompts to verify registration.

  4. Once you log in again with your user profile, click on Events,

  5. Click on Upcoming Events,

  6. Find EPHS State of Oregon High School Invitational Table Tennis Championships (Student Singles) and click the Sign Up button.

  7. You will be directed to pay with a Pay-Pal account, or you can just sign up as guest and use your credit card.

  8. From this point on, everytime you log into https://aytto.com/ you will see you have registered for the event when you click on the Events menu.

1st time Adult Educator registration and log in process

  • Third , you will be asked by AYTTO or the tournament director in the future to determine your estimated rating or actual rating. Please use these guidelines.

    • Beginner -800 - Never have played in competitive regional or state tournament. Have no formal training but you have a competitive drive to test yourself agains players across the state of Oregon.

    • Intermediate - 1000 You have never competed at an official tournament but, your local school, family, friends, and classmates say you have talent for the game. You also do not mind going up against talented players and learning from the experience. Or are looking for a challenge to show off your abilities. Or, you have played in at least one competitive local, regional or state tournament and have won some matches.

    • Advanced - 1300 You know the rules of the game and have trained yourself or by a certified coach of the game to loop, chop, block, counter or sidespin a ball. Or you played in a local table tennis club and have held your own against local competitive competition.

    • Registered USATT high school players make sure you list your Usatt ID # when registering on the when registering on https://aytto.com/. For this inaugural tournament, a 1600 or greater rating is considered elite. and you should be recognized as having such ability.

    • Note: The Eagle Point High School Table Tennis club is sending at most 6 players, 2 of whom are imtermediate and the rest are beginners. Our club members understand that it is extermely unlikely they will win this event. They are participating and helping run this event because

      1. They want to experience higher level competition. to push themselves and see where they really stand.

      2. They want to travel, have a great experience, and make new friendships through honest competition.

    • If you are an eligible high school student or for this event and feel the same way they do, sign up. They would be happy to play you, no matter your ability.

    • If you are an elgible adult participant who does not mind having your table tennis skills tested against some of the best adult table tennis players in public and private elementary or secondary education, sign up. Nothing wrong with having bragging rights as "One of the best Adult Educator Table Tennis player in the State of Oregon."

  • Fourth, If spots are available for either tournament after March 19th, 2022 but online registriation is closed, email Walter Poelzing at poelzingw@eaglepnt.k12.or.us with name, school, age (if student), grade (if student), employee title and school of employment (if adult), and contact phone number. You will be reserved. in the order of email received after 3/19/22 and must pay $20 + $15 onsite processing fee , between 8:45 and 9:15 AM for the student singles event or between 1:30 pm and 1:55 pm for the adult educator event on March 26th, 2022 at the Bob Keefer Rec Center 250 S 32nd Street, Sprinfield, Oregon 97478 .(Total $35 on the day of the tournaments if spots available. Cash or check accepted.)

FAQ

  • Do I have to wear a mask?

No. As of March 12th, 2022 all school sponsored events are mask optional. This includes event organizers and volunteers. Though masks will be provided for those who wish one.

  • Do I have to bring my own paddle?

No, we will provide hard bat racket for players on site, though it is recommended that you bring a paddle you enjoy playing with. It will make a difference in your quality of play.

  • What's the difference between a hard bat racket and an smooth racket?

Hard Bat Rackets are considered rackets that have pips glued on a flat piece of wood. See racket types, for details.

Smooth Rackets are any racket with smooth rubber. See racket types, for details.

  • Do we play to 11 or 21 points per game?

11 points per game. Best out of 3 in all rounds, except the final round. All players will play a best of 5 match. in the final round(s). See rules page for details.

  • Does my high school have to have a ping pong team to participate?

No. Students and Adult Educators sign up individually.

  • Do I have to be trained to participate?

No. Beginners are most certainly welcome but, we are looking for competitors who enjoy competition while still having good sportsmanship. We most certainly encourage any player trained in table tennis to attend. We want your talents recognized! But, we also want students of any ability across the state who want the enjoyment of playing competitively and representing their schools for team awards. (See next question.)

  • Is there a team events or team trophies?

No and Yes. There are no team events but there are top school awards. See rules page for details

  • What is the size of each tournament?

Since we do not know how the state will effect sizes in late March of 2022, but given the size of the venue, and preparations put in place, we will be prepared to handle 64 participants per tournament. If we are provided extra resources and the state allows us a higher number, we will do our best to accomidate such changes. As for now, first 64 fully registered participants get in.

  • Can players enter two tournaments?

No. You are either a student or an adult at a private or public school reconized by the State of Oregon.

Special case, If you are between 14 and 18 years of age, have graduated early from a high school in the state of Oregon and are working as an employee in a private or public school recognized by the state of Oregon, you will only be eligible for the Student Singles Event and represent the school you graduated from.

  • What is the cost?

$20/ student singles. $20/adult singles.

+ $15 for participants who register on site, on the day of the tournament (provided spots available).

+ $5 for optional lunch meal. See below.

  • Is there food available/allowed?

Yes. We will provide chicken or egg salad sandwiches and a variety of soft drinks, water or coffee for $5. There are no gluten free or

vegan alternatives.

You will pay the $5 on the day of the event, and once fully registered, we will contact you and see if you would like a meal reserved.

Lunch will be served in our designated food area between between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.

Yes. You may bring your own food, but it must be consumed in our designated food area between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.
