Tracie Christensen
High School Principal
The 2025–26 school year marks my 14th year with the Emmetsburg Community School District. I am proud to serve as the High School Principal and am continually inspired by the dedicated staff, hard-working students, supportive parents, and caring community that make Emmetsburg such a special place. I look forward to continuing our shared mission of providing meaningful opportunities and experiences for all students.
I was born and raised in Riceville, Iowa, where I began my career in education working as the Superintendent’s Secretary, later transitioning to the High School Secretary role. After eight years in the office, and with encouragement from a dedicated administrator, I returned to school to pursue my teaching degree. I began teaching in the Charles City Community School District as a business teacher and assistant technology coordinator. After two years in the classroom, I felt called to school leadership and pursued advanced degrees—earning a Master’s in Student Excellence and Leadership from Buena Vista University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Viterbo University.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three adult children, and their families. Becoming a grandparent has been a true joy—who knew grandchildren could be so much fun! I also enjoy scrapbooking, camping, and making memories with our extended family.
I am honored to be part of the Emmetsburg family and look forward to meeting the challenges and celebrating the successes that lie ahead. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns at tchristensen@e-hawks.org.
