Hello! I am Arik Kerr, and I am a social sciences teacher at Emmetsburg High School. I also coach two sports at the middle school level. The 2025-2026 school year is my ninth year at Emmetsburg. I am a 2012 graduate of Emmetsburg High School, and was involved in multiple activities, including football, track, vocal music, instrumental music, quiz bowl and student council. I highly encourage each of my students to be involved in some form of extra-curricular activity while in high school. 

After high school, I attended Iowa State University, where I was a 2016 graduate with a major in History and minor in Political Science. In December of 2023, I graduated with a master's degree in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies with an emphasis in PS-12 Administration through The University of Iowa.

I enjoy looking at current politics and events through multiple perspectives, as well as trying to be a continual learner. I am always looking for something new to learn about. I am married to Mrs. Kerr, who is the middle school counselor at Emmetsburg. In my free time, you can find us outside, visiting friends or family, or searching for our next place to travel to. I am excited to continue to call Emmetsburg my home, and I look forward to my time with all of you.
