Emmetsburg Baseball Field

Emmetsburg Baseball Field

The Emmetsburg Baseball Field has gone under minor renovations since 2008. Below is the year by year updates that have taken place. None of this could have gotten done without all of the coaches, players, and other volunteers over the years. We started taking group pictures at our annual field clean up day each Spring beginning in 2014. There were groups before that are not pictured that did much of the work as well.

In 2012, we cut the outer rim of the infield to make it more circular and clean a bunch of weeds out as well.

In the Fall of 2012, the visitor dugout was torn down and replaced. Mr. Birkey's Construction class built the new dugouts from start to finish.

2013

In the Spring of 2013, the visitor dugout was painted. The Emmetsburg Baseball letters and the "Muscle Bird" Logo were hung that spring as well.

New designs were also cut into the grass by 1st and 3rd base. This is the before picture.

We also started mowing a pattern into the outfield this year.

2014

Before the season, we widened the circular areas around the mound and home plate areas.

In the Fall of 2014, the right handed batters box and catchers area were dug up and replaced with clay bricks.

We improved the grass/dirt areas in front of the home and visitor dugouts this fall as well.

2015

We also started on our bullpen project in the Fall of 2015. The visitor bullpen is located outside the fence behind the football track concession stand. The home bullpen is located inside the fence down the left field line.

In the Spring of 2015, a small warning track was placed around the edge of the backstop.

2016

Starting in the Fall of 2015 and completing in the spring of 2016, we seeded in the side warning track down the left and right field lines. This will save on time on the maintenance of the old warning track and improve the overall appearance of the field

Finished - Coming soon!

In the fall of 2016 our pitchers mound was renovated. A new pitching rubber was installed plus Flex-Clay was added to make the appropriate height.

This was with renovations around 80% complete.
