Mrs. Johnson

Since I have the joy of getting to know your children each day, I see it only fair that you should be able to learn about me as well.  This is my tenth year as a K-3 Reading Interventionist. I have a deep passion for teaching children to read.  I love that I can be involved in such an integral part of their education.  Before this position, I have had twenty-two years of classroom experience teaching Pre-K through Fourth Grade.  I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Arizona State University.  I have also received my Masters of Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University.  In addition to my degrees, I also have an Early Childhood Endorsement, Reading Specialist Certificate, and SEI Certificate.  As far as my personal life, I am an Arizona native.  I grew up here on the west side of town and most of my family still live here in the valley.  My husband and I have been married for the past 24 years and are the proud parents of Aiden and Emma.  They are now Junions at Shadow Ridge High School, but attended Western Peaks from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade.
