To qualify for the Arizona State Seal of Personal Finance Proficiency, a student will complete: 

1. Complete all Social Studies requirements for graduation with GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.

2. Complete all of the following activities:

   1. 1. Passage of an assessment. The student shall attain the required score on one personal finance assessment as adopted by the State Board of Education, defined by the Arizona Department of Education, for purposes of demonstrating personal finance proficiency.

         1. • Free assessment through CEE and other organizations

            • EverFi Cumulative Financial Literacy Exam (Completed in Econ Courses)

            • Personal Finance-related Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) objective tests and exams such as:

              • FBLA-Personal Finance

              • DECA - DECA Personal Finance Literacy Exam

      2. Completion of an approved Personal Finance Program. The student shall complete one of the personal finance programs as adopted by the State Board of Education, defined by the Arizona Department of Education, for purposes of demonstrating personal finance proficiency.

            • Take Charge Today - University of Arizona

            • Money Moments - MidFirst Bank

            • Hands-on Banking - Wells Fargo

            • NextGen Personal Finance Courses

            • 360o of Financial Literacy - AICPA

            • Thrive Financial Literacy for Teens - Pay Your Family First

            • Financial Fitness for Life - ACEE

            • Virtual Economics - ACEE

            • Money Vehicle Program

            • Knowledge Matters Personal Finance Course

            • Discover Pathways to Financial Success

            • Foundations in Personal Finance - Ramsey Education

            • Edmentum Personal and Family Finance Course

            • Additional programs offered by banks, credit unions, and the Federal Reserve

      3.  Participation in a curricular or extracurricular program. The student shall complete one personal finance curricular or extracurricular program as adopted by the State Board of Education, defined by the Arizona Department of Education, for purposes of demonstrating personal finance proficiency.

            • Investwrite National Essay Contest

            • Junior Achievement High School Program

      4. Demonstrated college and/or career readiness plan. The student shall complete one college and career readiness plan as adopted by the State Board of Education, defined by the Arizona Department of Education, for purposes of demonstrating personal finance proficiency.

         1. • ECAP

            • FAFSA Completion

            • Completion of CTED certificate program leading to industry credential

            • Written Reflection piece that includes college/career plan post high school
