Our focus in Reading Intervention this year will be phonemic awareness, reading comprehension, fluency and reading strategies. It is my hope to promote and foster a lifelong love for reading and share my enthusiasm for literacy with students and their families.

I have been teaching for the past 21 and a half years in the Phoenix area. I received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University West and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I am endorsed in Early Childhood Education, English as a Second Language and have a Reading Specialist endorsement. I taught kindergarten for 11.5 years, 2nd grade for 4 years and reading intervention for the past 6 years.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Miles. We have a son who is starting college and a daughter who is starting her sophomore year in high school. They take up most of my free time, but some hobbies I enjoy are baking, crafting and reading.
