Class Overview
Second Graders will be participating in learning activities and lessons that will increase their knowledge. Language Arts and Math are the main areas of instruction, through which Art, Science, Technology, and Social Studies topics will be taught. Students will be working in groups as well as individually. Their relationship to the classroom, school, family and community will be explored and expanded. Questioning skills, research skills and drawing conclusions are the mechanisms used to increase their knowledge. Learning to discipline their thoughts and actions will enhance the classroom environment and allow their thinking to be challenged and foster their creativity.
About me
My name is Nigesa Scales. This is my 5th year of teaching and my fourth year at MVS. I am originally from New York State and I miss the east coast, but Arizona has become my second home. I am a retired Air Force Veteran and experienced wonderful travels and cultures throughout my career. I have a wonderful and active family and I am the mother of three awesome children in which two of them attend MVS. I love reading, writing, crafts, outdoor activities, and spending time with my family and friends.
I am so excited to be able to share this year of school with you and your Second Grader! Please know that I consider us a team and will do all I can to help your child succeed!
