Attendance
Follow school policies outlined in the handbook.
Inconsistent attendance invariably leads to increased stress: too much make-up work, loss of continuity with class activities, and an inability to participate fully in class discussions. Also, many of you hold leadership positions in the school or participate in athletics, band, or drama. Learning to manage your time is essential to your success at home, in school, and at work.
For planned absences, it is highly recommended you get the work in advance and make arrangements with the teacher prior to your absence. Many assignments and resources are available online on my webpage.
Missing/Late Assignments
Shadow Ridge High School students are expected to turn in all assignments including but not limited to homework, projects, papers and lab reports on the assigned due date. Late work will be accepted for up to one week past the due date for up to 70% of the original grade. Students who turn in work past the 1 week deadline will be allowed to turn in the assignment for up to 4 weeks for up to 50% of the original grade if the work meets requirements. All scores are based on the level of mastery demonstrated.
Retesting
Re-takes of assessments are permitted but will be subsidized content.
Students may retake any test one time within the progress reporting period (every 4 weeks) after completing a qualifier (subsidized work) and the retest must be administered during a tutoring session.
