Ways to help at home:

  • Additional practice: Students can log onto any of the websites listed on the helpful websites page at the top for extra practice
  • Practice multiplication flashcards every night identifying the facts your student needs to work on. Students have been taking quizzes weekly so they should know what fact they need to work on.
  • Cursive: Students can practice upper and lower case letters learned in class. You may print out cursive handwriting papers to practice. Students may also practice writing cursive letters, words and sentences in various tactile ways. Some ideas include: sand, on a whiteboard, in chalk on the sidewalk or in shaving cream.
  • Reading log: Students should be reading 15-20 minutes each night and recording it on their reading log. Research shows daily independent reading to be one of the most important factors in predicting student success in school. Please encourage your child to read daily.
