We are looking forward to a great school year. It is our goal to provide meaningful, engaging instruction to your students each day. We pride ourselves in building relationships with our students and are looking forward to watching them grow in so many ways this year.

Science Teacher
My name is Lora Burt. This will be my 16th year teaching. In addition to 5th grade, I have also taught 3rd and 4th grade. I am very passionate about teaching Science and love teaching 5th grade! I have 2 daughters ages 10 and 13. I am also the volleyball coach and NJHS Advisor here at Marley and have loved the opportunity that it gives me to meet more of Marley’s community.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Jonat. I am so excited to be your 5th grade Math teacher. Here is a little about me… This is my 14th year in education. I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and now 5th grade Math. I was born and raised in Kansas. This year marks my 6th year in Arizona. I have been married for 17 years and have one girl and three boys. I am excited to help instill a love of learning in all of my students. We will learn and grow together by being Better Every Day!

Hello! My name is Tarrah Ward. I am the 5th grade Social Studies teacher. This is my 5th year teaching 5th grade here at Marley. I have one son who will be in 2nd grade this year. Hello! My name is Jessica Whynott. I am so excited to be your 5th grade Reading teacher. Here is a little about me… This is my 18th year in education. I have taught 2nd grade, 4th grade, and now 5th grade ELA. I was born and raised on the East Coast in Massachusetts. This year marks my 8th year in Arizona. I have been married to my loving husband for 17 years and have two girls, both of which attend Marley (5th and 8th grade). I am excited to help instill a love of reading and see all the progress we will make. We will learn and grow together by being Better Every Day!

Writing Teacher
Hi! My name is Ms. Criteser and I am thrilled to be joining the 5th grade team this year. I have taught at Marley for a couple years before I took a teaching break to spend some time at home with my daughter. I have taught for a total of 10 years, 9 of them being 5th grade. I love sports and anything that involves adventure; I even went skydiving this past year! I can’t wait to learn all about each of my students and help them grow.
