Study Help

As the school year progresses, more study tips will be added. Check back often. You can also make suggestions.

Do you have a good resource? Please share it. If you have a website with good info, please email the link or tell me about it in class. We can take a look at it together.

Graphic Organizers . . . Get it out of your head with the use of graphic organizers. These will help organize your ideas to create essays, goals reports, projects, etc Find one that is right for your assignment, click on the link for Freeolog or Mangomon

Brain Break . . . What's that?! We all need to take a break sometimes. Brain breaks can be short moments to do nothing that causes you to think about the task you are "supposed" to be doing and does NOT include a phone.

It may be a few stretches or some deep breaths... relax, move around, write something repetitively like your name, go get some water. Then get back on task and refocus.

Peers . . . Call or email your class peers. National Honor Society tutors every Wednesday in the student commons

Share notes. Help each other out!

It's called collaboration.

Tutoring . . . tutoring is available at V V H S in most (maybe all) subjects. Get in touch with your teacher for the class that you feel you need some help, maybe it's just one or two sessions to help get through a unit. If this seems scary to you, ASK me to help you ask the teacher or to find a tutor. Don't wait!! Email me if you need help getting started. Check your teacher's website for tutoring times.
