Meet the Teacher

Noelle Downs

Hello, my name is Noelle Downs and I am very excited to be your child’s teacher this school year! Let me tell you a little about myself! I was born in New Jersey, but moved to Arizona when I was six. I am married to a hockey fanatic, named Jason, and have two wonderful daughters, Brooke age 14 and Ashlee age 12.

I completed my undergraduate education at Grand Canyon University and my Masters and Reading Endorsement at Northern Arizona University. I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade and Second Grade for 27 years. I am new to Mountain View but I have been teaching in Dysart for 17 years. I love being a teacher!

I look forward to an amazing year with you all! We will work together to make sure this year is a success!

My Philosophy On Teaching and Learning:

I believe in creating a classroom environment that is positive, nurturing, and supportive. I want all children to feel comfortable enough to share their feelings, and safe enough to take risks, be creative and challenge themselves. We practice grit and understand the Power of Yet. We focus on having good character by being flexible, showing kindness and compassion, having integrity and being respectful. We DREAM BIG to achieve everything we want in life!

Communication is very important to the success of the school year. Please don’t hesitate to email me or call if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to reach me is through Class Dojo or email at noelle.downs@dysart.org. Together, we will make this an amazing year!
