ELMES Social Woker

Welcome, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me. My name is, Fernanda Barragan Garcia, I am the school social worker at El Mirage Elementary School. I am a part of a new district program designed to work with students, family and staff by facilitating social and emotional learning (SEL).

I received my Master's in Social work in May, 2020. Prior to joining the Dysart community I worked in crisis intervention with teens for approximately 11 years. I decided to pursue a career in Social Work because I believe in the importance of providing a healthy and safe environment for our youth.

During these uncertain times, I want you to know that I am here for you to help and support you and your families. I will be working to get families connected with resources from our community. I want your child to be as successful as possible not only academically, but also as it relates to their interpersonal relationships.
