6th grade Science consists of 4 MODULES:

Module 1:  Energy Flow - students will explore the core concepts of kinetic energy, the composition of matter, energy and changing states, and energy in the universe. This module is taught through the lens of understanding that all objects are made of matter and the relationship between energy and matter.

Module 2:  Patterns in the Solar System - students will explore the core ideas of the formation of our solar system, eclipses, phases, tides, and constellations.  This module is taught through the lens of understanding how the position of objects in space affects what we see.

Module 3:  Ecology - students will explore the core ideas of energy in living systems, biotic and abiotic factors, and interactions in ecosystems. This module is taught through the lens of understanding the balance and flow of energy in the ecosystem.

Module 4:  Human Impact on Ecosystems - students will explore the core ideas of human impact on ecosystems. This module is taught through the lens of understanding that human activities can have positive and negative effects on the biodiversity of ecosystems, and the methods that can be used to help sustain ecosystems.
