K-8 Quarter End Grades typically close 1 week before the end of the quarter.
All assignments should be turned in 2 weeks before end of quarter to give teachers time to grade assignments and make updates.
Homework: Weekly homework assignments are designed to reinforce the skills we are learning in the classroom, so it is important that they are completed on time. Homework will count as 10% of your child’s grade.
Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday and sent home on Friday (for families who would like a head start). All homework is due the following Friday.
If your child is struggling with homework, please contact me through ParentSquare so we can work together to support your child.

Students may bring their own daily snack.
Please send a simple, quick snack with your child each day. Snacks should NOT be candy and should take about 5 minutes to eat. Since this is a working snack, it should be easy to manage and not messy.
Good snack ideas include crackers, pretzels, carrots (no dressing ), apples, and grapes.
Please avoid snacks that are messy, require assembly, or could interfere with learning (such as yogurt, chips that leave residue on fingers, or foods that need to be put together).

Please call the attendance line at 623-523-8753 and email your child’s teacher if you know your child will be absent. When possible, please provide at least 24 hours notice so work can be prepared in advance.
If your child is absent, they will have one day for each day missed to make up and turn in their work.
Students may bring water bottles to class with clear water only.
Please do not send juice, sports drinks, flavored water, or soda.
All water bottles must have a lid that seals properly to prevent spills.
Please label your child’s water bottle, even if it is disposable.
Your child’s safety is very important. This year, parents wil complete the transportation via a Google Form. This form is for your child’s regular, day-to-day transportation and does not include one-day changes.
Please be sure to fill it out so we know how your child will go home each day.
Your child will go home according to the instructions you provide on the form unless you notify me of a change through ParentSquare, a written note, email (nicole.cline@dysart.org), or by calling the school office at 623-523-8750.

Store-bought treats should be dropped off before school starts to avoid interruptions.
Please be mindful of allergies. We have students with nut allergies and sometimes dairy allergies, and there may be gluten sensitivities. Be sure to read all ingredient labels carefully.
Individually wrapped items (such as snack packs or packaged treats) are the easiest to pass out and are preferred.
Birthday party invitations should be passed out before or after school. If you are not inviting the entire class, please be discreet and have invitations placed directly into backpacks.
Please remember that Arizona law and Dysart Unified School District policy require students to keep cell phones and smart watches turned off and stored in backpacks during the school day to help minimize distractions and support learning.
