K-8 Quarter End Grades typically close 1 week before the end of the quarter.
All assignments should be turned in 2 weeks before end of quarter to give teachers time to grade assignments and make updates.
Homework: The weekly homework assignments will help reinforce the skills we will be working on in the classroom so it is important to complete them on time.
Homework will be 10% of your child’s grade. Homework will be assigned Monday-Thursday and will go home on Friday (for those who need a head start) and is due back the following Friday. Please contact me via parent square or email me at nicole.cline@dysart.org so that we can work together if your child is struggling with homework.
Lunch is at 12:30 pm. Click Here for Lunch Menus
Students may bring their own daily snack.
Snacks should not be candy and only take your child about 5 minutes to eat. This shouldn't be messy but something quick and easy. Some good ideas for snacks would be crackers, pretzels, carrots (no dressing), apples, and/or grapes. They will not be allowed to eat chips that turn their fingers colors, foods that have to be put together, or foods that are messy (like yogurt). This is a working snack so snack shouldn't make it difficult to work.
Please call the attendance line at 623-523-8753 and email your child's teacher if you know your child will be absent. When possible, please give the teacher at least 24 hours notice to get work ready.
If your child is absent, they will have one day for every day absent to make up and turn in work.
Water bottles are permitted in class with clear water only.
Please do not send juice, sports drinks, flavored water, or soda.
All water bottles must have a lid that seals properly.
Please label your child's water bottle even if it is disposable.
Your child’s safety is important, A transportation sheet, stating how they will get home, will be completed at Meet the Teacher night. Click here to print 2nd Grade transportation form. Your child will go home per your transportation form instructions unless you message me on ParentSquare, send a note, email me at nicole.cline@dysart.org, or call the school directly at 623-523-8750.

Individually wrapped items like Twinkies or snack-pack cookies/treats are easiest to pass out and best due to COVID.
Invitations to birthday parties need to be passed out before or after school.
If you are not inviting the whole class, please be discreet. They need to immediately go into backpacks.
