QUESTION #1:
- How many years have you been teaching band?
- For 2020-2021, I will be in my second year teaching elementary band and fourth year working with high school bands!
QUESTION #2:
- When can I join band?
- You can join band just about any time! I recommend within the first and second quarter of school so you can spend the rest of the year feeling confident in your instrument before you perform at a concert. Make sure to reach out to me at lauren.streeter@dysart.org so I can help you sign up for band! I would love to have you in my class :-)
QUESTION #3:
- Can I join band playing a string instrument?
- If you want to, you can, but you have to work really hard because band and strings start at two different places. We will also be offering a string club at Surprise and a mariachi club at Thompson Ranch so you can learn how to play a string instrument. You will have to provide your own instrument whether you are in class or in a club. I will work super hard for you if you are dedicated in learning the instrument. It is really fun!
QUESTION #4:
- What is your favorite part about band?
- My favorite part about band is coming together to make music and spending my time with my students. Everyone is super awesome and we have a great time in class. Then, performing at concerts where everyone can see how hard we worked is so amazing! I wouldn't trade anything for the world. Teaching band is the best job you can have and making music with all my students is so wonderful! :-)

- When is your dog's birthday?
- Her birthday is February 08!
