World History I & II

Class overview

Students will address basics of world history. Emphasis is on increasing and refining the student’s awareness of the students’ place in the world, life changes, sequencing events, and conflict and resolution, including historical world events, that helps them approach responsible decision making and tolerance in real-life contexts. Students will use basic knowledge of world history as it pertains to the Social Studies standards. This class is for students with significant disabilities who access the Arizona Alternative Academic Standards.

About me

My name is Mr. West and I have been teaching in the Dysart School District for 10 years. I have taught at Thompson Ranch, Dysart, Western Peaks (IA), Ashton Ranch and now Shadow Ridge HS. I coach football at Shadow Ridge and am an avid sports fan.

I am married with five children. Two of those five are now adult age, while I still have three children that attend Dysart Schools. My wife Erin, is my bedrock and keeps all of our family craziness under control while being a Registered Nurse.

I love sports (football is my favorite), reading, watching TV, and spending quality time with my family.
