Hello!
Having moved to Surprise, AZ from Vermont in 2017, my family and I are excited to have said goodbye to the brutal cold of the northeast in order to embrace the warmer temperatures of Arizona. I have lived in many locations in the northeast, including Boston, MA, Albany, NY, and more recently, a small town in Vermont that contains more cows than people.
An educator’s job is to prepare the next generation for success in their communities, the nation, and the world. Therefore, I cannot imagine a responsibility more exciting and impactful than teaching. I have taught students while on staff at churches in MA and VT, I served as a special education instructor in NY, and in 2017, I taught Living Environment Science at an alternative education high school in NY. Nonetheless, my passion is English Language Arts and this will be my fifth teaching ELA at the West Point Arts Academy.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in Education. I love mountain biking and indoor rock climbing. When I am at home, I’m either playing with my children or changing their diapers! I believe the most important part of teaching is developing positive rapport, and I can’t wait to meet and get to know each of you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Brown
