Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications (PDQs) provide a strong framework to support the effective continuing professional development of candidates.

They help teacher candidates to:

• engage critically with relevant concepts, principles, theories and best practices from around the world

• apply new ideas and approaches in reflective practice in their own teaching and learning context

• formatively evaluate experiences to plan further development

• transform the quality of teaching and school leadership to improve the outcomes of students.

THE PROGRAMME

Structure of the programme:

The Cambridge International Certificate. The Certificate comprises of one module.

Module 1 - Exploring teaching and learning. The Cambridge Certificate is awarded upon successful completion of Module 1.

1. What are the courses offered?

o Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching and Learning

O Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching with Digital Technologies.


2. Who can apply?

The courses are for those who are in-service teachers working in educational organizations. The first batch of 20 candidates will be selected based on the admission criteria decided by the centre.


3. What is the duration of the course?

The suggested duration for each module is 16 - 17 weeks. The centre will support till the 17th week of commencement of the course for the module before submitting the portfolios to Cambridge for accreditation.


4. What are the prerequisites for a candidate enrolling into the courses?

  • All candidates must have access to their own personal computer or laptop with internet connection and should be able to access the various applications suggested by the centre for online learning.

  • All candidates must be comfortable with the use of technology for learning, as the centre will not support with any technical issues arising at home of the candidates.

  • All candidates must agree and commit to attend all the classes of 3-hour duration for 14 to 17 days as scheduled by the centre for each module.

THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

How many classes will a candidate attend?

The learning is divided into 3 types of activities for each module. The candidate will attend the following sessions:

All candidates must have access to their own personal computer or laptop with internet connection and should be able to access the various applications suggested by the centre for online learning.

  • Guided Learning Sessions: Conducted online by the centre for a total of 17 sessions of 3 hours duration each.

  • Individual/Collaborative Learning Sessions: Each guided learning session is followed by an assignment based on reading and research with the help of peer groups or by independent learning.

  • Work-based Learning Sessions: At the end of the guided and individual learning sessions, candidates work alongside with their mentor at school to apply their learning in the classroom with their students to produce evidence of learning and evidence of practice as required for accreditation by Cambridge.

CERTIFICATION

What are the prerequisites for a candidate to gain accreditation by Cambridge?

In addition to the above conditions, at the time of enrolling into the courses,

  • All candidates must have a mentor from their own school supporting the course assignment completion.

  • All candidates must produce evidence of their practice duly validated by the mentor at the school.

What is the process of accreditation?

  • STEP 1 Candidates need to send their consent for admission to: pdq @dypisnerul.in

  • STEP 2 Module 1 - Complete the enrollment form and attend the admission interview.

  • STEP 3 Enrolled candidates attend online classes conducted by the centre, planning and preparing learning activities as per the syllabus requirements.

  • STEP 4 Enrolled candidates implement their planned learning activities with their students in their own schools.

  • STEP 5 Candidates build their e-portfolio simultaneous to their planning and practice.

  • STEP 6 Programme Leader at the centre will authenticate the e-portfolio of evidences signed off by the candidates.

  • STEP 7 CAIE will accredit the candidates after summative assessment of the portfolios.
