The Inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 2023
Joseph Aldridge, Posthumously, Coach. Coach Aldridge was the Head Boys Soccer Coach for 23 years and the Head Boys Tennis Coach. His tenure as boys soccer coach included numerous Cape and Islands League and Southeastern Mass Conference Titles along with only one losing season in 23 years as the Head Boys Soccer Coach. The soccer fields at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School are named in his honor.
Alan Carlsen, Posthumously, Coach. Coach Carlsen, coached cross country, winter track, and spring track. He won numerous state titles and he is a member of the Massachusetts Track Coaches Hall of Fame. The track at Dennis-Yarmouth High School is named in his honor.
Walter Hewins, Coach. Coach Hewins was the Head Football coach at DY and the Head Golf coach at DY. He was the Head Football coach of the 1960 undefeated class D State Champions. He also created the Cape Cod Individual High School Golf Championship. The trophy is named in his honor.
Merrill “Red” Wilson, Posthumously, Coach. Coach Wilson was the Head Boys Basketball Coach, Head Baseball Coach and longtime Dennis-Yarmouth Athletic Director. He was also a player and coach in the Cape Cod Baseball League. He is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame. The Dennis-Yarmouth High School Baseball Field is named in his honor.
Fran Woods, Coach. Fran Woods was a clear pioneer for girls sports. She coached field hockey, softball, girls basketball, and girls tennis from the mid 1960’s - late 1970’s. She was a strong proponent for girls athletics and helped lead Dennis-Yarmouth’s girls sports programs.
Alison Adams, 1983 Graduate. She was a three sport athlete in field hockey, basketball, and softball. Alison was all league in all three sports. She is currently a Math teacher at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.
Walter Skip Daley, 1960 Graduate. Walter Skip Daly was a 1960 Graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School were he was a three sport athlete He attended Springfield College and eventually would serve in Vietnam. In 1968 he was killed in action. The senior athlete award at Dennis-Yarmouth High School is named in his honor.
Kim Judge (Dean), 1987 Graduate. Kim participated in five sports at DY, field hockey, cross country, basketball, softball, and track. She holds numerous track records including being the 1986 and 1987 State Champion and New England Champion in the 2 mile. She went on to run track at North Carolina State.
Sally Quinlan, 1979 Graduate. Sally was a 3 sport athlete in field hockey, basketball, golf. She was a 2 time Girls Individual State Champion. She was also a member of the 1979 Boys State Champion Golf team. Sally attended the University of Miami to play golf and eventually become a professional golfer in the LPGA.
Brad Sprinkle, 1974 Graduate. Brad was a 3 sport athlete in soccer, basketball, Spring track. He holds numerous track and field records.
