Francesca Romo was born in London and knew from an early age that she wanted to dance. She trained at The Royal Ballet School and London Contemporary Dance School before joining the Richard Alston Dance Company, where she danced from 2003–2006. While touring internationally, she fell in love with the United States and moved to New York to join the Sean Curran Dance Company (2006–2007).
In 2007, Francesca co-founded Gallim Dance, where she served as Associate Director until 2014. During this time, she collaborated closely with Andrea Miller, touring extensively and contributing to commissions for English National Ballet, Bern Ballet, Noord Nederlandse Dans, Nederlands Dans Theater 2, and The Juilliard School. Gallim’s work has been presented by leading institutions and festivals worldwide, including New York City Center, The Joyce Theater, Jacob’s Pillow, BAM, the Théâtre National de Chaillot, Teatre Grec of Barcelona, Teatro Nacional de Panamá, DanceHouse Vancouver, and the Spoleto Festival, among others.
Since joining Contemporary Dance Wyoming, Francesca has performed works by Babs Case, Gina Patterson, Robyn Mineko Williams, Lauren Edson, and Courtney Mazeika. She now resides in Jackson Hole, where she dances, teaches, mentors, and plays an integral role in Dancers’ Workshop’s wellness programming. Her teaching includes Gyrotonic® and Visionary Craniosacral Work with both adults and infants.
Francesca is a recipient of the 2022 Wyoming Arts Council Performing Arts Fellowship. She hopes to continue sharing her deep curiosity for movement, expanding her embodied research, and cultivating meaningful relationships with other humans.
