About Us
The 2024 Log1 Contest, offered by Dwight Seoul's Mu Alpha Theta, is an annual test designed to provide students with opportunities to display their mathematical prowess and compete against students worldwide in a standardized mathematical contest. Only official Mu Alpha Theta chapters/members can participate. Composed of three distinct tests, Mu, Alpha, and Theta, each test is designed to allow students of similar mathematical backgrounds to compete on an even playing field – where students will take one of the three tests appropriate to their current level of mathematics. Out of the 15 questions on each test, a different number of points (4 - 6) will be awarded according to the difficulty of the question, and students should aim to achieve the highest score out of a maximum of 75 points. The test length is 30 minutes, and there are no points deducted for wrong answers, so students are recommended to answer each question to the best of their abilities.
Timing of the Rounds
Round 1 materials will be available for download on November 1. The test is to be downloaded and administered by December 13, with scores uploaded by January 3.

The contest topics are as follows:
Mu: For students studying or who have studied Calculus, covering the broadest range of topics.
Alpha: For students that have finished Algebra II but have not studied calculus, for example, for students in Pre-Calculus.
Theta: For students in Algebra II and below. There will be no trigonometry questions other than right triangle trigonometry or law of sines and law of cosines.
According to our policy manual, if the student is not a member in the Mu Alpha Theta database, their scores cannot count for prizes. The rules say that the students must be a member by March 1 in order to win any Log1 prizes.
