Students were given three minutes to work in groups with a common goal of locating and highlighting the numbers 1-100 in numerical order which they thought were "randomly" placed on a piece of paper. They found out it wasn't as easy as it sounds. Students had to work together multiple times to try to develop strategies to get further on each three minute attempt. Once the groups figured out there was actually a pattern it became a lot easier to locate the numbers on the paper. They learned not only is math the study of numbers but with those numbers comes the study of patterns. Uncovering the pattern leads to a deeper understanding of math concepts.
Getting To Know All About You.....

Question examples were: * Tell your group about your family * What is your favorite subject * What is your favorite food and restaurant * What do you want to be when you grow up * One superpower you wish you had * Something you are excellent at doing * Your most challenging subject * Favorite season. Enjoy some pictures of students completing their task scavenger hunt.
