Elementary General Music

Greetings and Welcome to the Elementary Music Page!

Elementary music is the awesome part of the day that students get to sing, explore instruments, move to music, write their own music and have fun! 3rd-6th graders have a basic understanding on the fundamentals of music that we can expand on and apply to recorders, guitars and other instruments. Below you will find a fun music video the 3rd-6th graders made using the skills and tools they learned in music class. Forms and other information will be posted as needed.

Grading

I use the S1, S2, S3, and U1, U2, U3 scale. The S stands for satisfactory and the U stands for Unsatisfactory. The numbers stand for behavior issues in my class. 1 being no issues, 2 is some issues, and 3 means many behavioral issues.

For example if a student got an S2 in my class, it means that the student is meeting the goals for learning music and singing but has some issues of behavior in my class. Or if a student has a U1, it means they are not meeting the standards of singing and music, but have no issues of behavior in my class.

I use this system to help parents get a clear idea of how their student is behaving in my class. If you have any questions please contact me.
