10/31/25 Social Skills: First graders are working so hard to build their yellow zone toolboxes to maximize the amount of time they are in the green zone allowing us to be in charge of their learning. Listening, following directions, clarifying , independence, taking risks and building stamina are key to success. 

Our literacy block consists of independent reading, whole group reading, buddy reading and read alouds. Writing, grammar and word work. We have become engaged in reading and writing with confidence. Our classroom book box is growing with class books we have written and illustrated. 

Scholastic news brings real life experiences and questions about the world weekly. We are looking forward to exploring our unit of Traditions Around the World over the next two months. If you would like to share your family traditions with our class we would love it! Contact me for more information.
