Mission: Science and technology mixed with the excitement of sports. FIRST Robotics is based on teamwork and competition. Under strict rules, limited time, and limited resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-sized robots to play a difficult field game with and against similar competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.
Activities Include: The Robotics Team will be regularly meeting in the fall but in the winter the team will have increased meetings, usually 4 times a week. Every meeting is optional so the time commitment is completely up to you. During the meetings, we will be building and coding a robot for FIRST Robotics Competitions. We will go to multiple competitions where we will compete against other high schools in the region.
