This is a time-capsule of the year 1998. It was created at Griffiths Middle School in Downey, California in the fall of 1998 and spring of 1999 by students who were members of Mrs. Frakes' social studies classes. The students brought in items which they felt represented life in 1998 and placed them into a box hoping the people of the future would find them appreciate what things have changed and what things have stayed the same over time.

The time capsule was hidden away for twenty years and then opened by 6th grade students in Mrs. Davis' social studies class (the same teacher with a different name) in August of 2018. These modern students digitized the contents of the time capsule by taking photographs of each item and uploading them to this website so it could be shared with the world.
