A tradition of Academic Excellence
The California Junior Scholarship Federation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to recognize and encourage academic achievement and community service among middle and high school students in California. This program is unique in that students must earn the grades to qualify, and they must join every semester. Membership is not automatic, and every year at Griffiths we have over 150 students join CJSF or Scholarship Club at each grade level. Our Five Semester Scholars have qualified and joined every semester that they have been a student at Griffiths.
In addition to joining CJSF, the students are asked to be active in their school community. This includes giving their time and talent to different campus activities such as: ASB, WEB, PLTW - Robotics, Femineers, playing in one of our many sports, performing with Band or Choir, acting in Advanced Drama play, competing in Mock Trial, accompanying our Basic Skills students into the community; and also committing to tutoring at least one hour a semester either at Griffiths or at Price Elementary as a Price Pal… all the while maintaining the needed grades to be part of CJSF, and being citizens of character. Many of our CJSF honorees participate in even more than one of the aforementioned activities.
Griffiths Middle School is extremely proud of our CJSF members! Keep up the fantastic work!
The number of semesters a student has participated in CJSF is denoted on the certificate they will receive. Our one semester scholars will receive their CJSF certificate being that this is their first time being a member of CJSF. Two semester scholar certificates are denoted with a red sticker. Three semester scholar certificates have a blue sticker. Four semester scholar certificates have a gold sticker, and five semester certificates have a gold sticker and a blue ribbon.
The following are our 8th Grade CJSF Scholars. We are incredibly proud of your hard work and dedication to your academics!
We are so proud of all of of you. Your hard work and dedication to your education will take you far in life. Keep reaching for your dreams.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Legg.
