In Class Procedures
Class Flow:
At the beginning of each chapter, students will hear a lecture from Mrs. Treadwell. Students
will be responsible for using the information in this lecture to complete notes, written work,
assessments, and skills (skills will be done in the lab once per week).
Late work:
Students may turn in work late for half credit. *No late work will be accepted 1 week prior to
grades due.
Equipment use:
When you want to use lab equipment of any kind you must have permission from Mrs.
Treadwell. The equipment is very expensive, you are responsible for damaged equipment. If
at any point equipment is misused, you will be given detention (at minimum) and will be
writing essays instead joining the rest of the class with lab activities.
Lab:
On lab days, students are required to conduct themselves in a professional manner. The lab is
a place to practice skills we learned earlier in the week. Each student will be provided with a
lab coat, name badge, stethoscope, and Sphygmomanometer through the year. They are to be
taken care of used professionally.
Class Rules
1) READ, WATCH, PARTICIPATE & LISTEN! You are responsible for all the information provided
on Mrs. Treadwell’s website, in Google Classroom, information presented in class, and
communication through emails, etc. If you are absent, access tutorials on the class website,
check the absent folder, ask a friend, and complete them at home.
2) When the teacher talks, you listen. You must be in your seat, listening, working, and being
respectful in speech, and action at all times. If you have concerns or questions, quietly raise
your hand and wait to be called on. Feel free to send emails or talk after class if you have
more sensitive concerns!
3) Respect others’ right to learn, & their property. Do not ever tamper with other student work or property.
4) Respect the teacher and her right to teach. Be active in class. Listen to instructions.
Respect what is asked of you and complete your work to the best of your abilities.
5) Clean up after yourself & respect school property. It is a privilege to have access to high
quality medical supplies. However, it will need to be cleaned up a few minutes before class
ends. Be respectful and incredibly careful with all classroom equipment that you use. Follow
rules and expectations regarding equipment very carefully.
6) Phones are NOT allowed to be visible during class and are to be left in your backpack while
in the lab. *You may bring your backpack with you to the lab and keep it behind the teachers'
desk in the case of an emergency.
According to the district wide rules, phones and headphones are deemed "banned" in the
classroom. There will be times when they will be used to take photos for projects, but phones
must be in backpacks at all other times. Misuse of phones will result in confiscation, a
referral. This also includes EARBUDS! Earbuds must be put away unless expressed permission
is given to use them.
