Class: Beginning Band Grade: Fifth Location: DECA Rm. 41         Time: during 5th Grade Classroom Music

Beginning Band meets in the morning during fifth grade class time at room 41. Except for Wednesdays since Fifth Grade class time happens at the same time as the band classes at DHS.  

During the year students will practice basic skills on their instruments with their beginning books (Essential Elements) and later learn pieces of music for an end of year concert. When it gets closer to the date of the concert, there will be After School Rehearsals held to practice the concert music. Beginning Band students are given a weekly practice log to fill out in class and turn in the next time they come. If students practice longer than 15 minutes and for more than 4 days each week, they can earn Coyote Cash to use at the school store.

Percussion (drums and mallet percussion)
