AVID 7–12 is a college and career readiness program designed to help students develop the academic, organizational, and communication skills they need to succeed in middle school and high school while preparing for college, careers, and life after graduation. AVID focuses on strategies such as Cornell Notes, focused note-taking, tutorials, inquiry, collaboration, organization, reading, and writing. Through the WICOR framework, students learn how to think critically, communicate effectively, manage their time and responsibilities, advocate for themselves, and take ownership of their education. Overall, AVID helps students build the skills, confidence, and mindset necessary to become successful, independent learners.
